The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team dropped a 5-3 decision to the University of Texas-Tyler on Friday in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Eagles close the season with a record of 13-12.

Mary Washington jumped ahead early, leading 2-1 after doubles. Riley Baver (Wayne, Pa., Radnor) and Andrew Frisk (Seal Beach, Ca., Los Alamitos) won at two doubles, 8-3, and Sam Wichlin (Ellicott City, Md., Ellicott City) and Will Apperson (Louisville, Ky., Ballard) won at three, 8-5. 

In singles, Texas-Tyler won matches at one, two, and four, before senior Zach Detweiler (Harleysville, PA, Christopher Dock) won at six, 6-4, 7-6. With two matches left on in third sets, Texas-Tyler won at five singles to clinch the match.
