Mary Washington men's swimming places sixth at NJAC Swimming & Diving Championships

The Mary Washington men's swim team finished sixth in the four day long New Jersey Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships this past weekend in College Park, Md.

On Sunday, the Eagles had Johnathan Zimmer place second in the 200-yard butterfly with a final time of 1:50.58. While, Logan DeWalt finished ninth in the 100-yard freestyle (46.18).

THURSDAY:

The Mary Washington men's swim team competed at the New Jersey Athletic Conference's swimming and diving championships on Thursday in College Park, Md. Thursday marked Day 1 of the four-day event.

In the 200-yard medley relay, Will Burkey, Aidan Deege, Zack Cherry and Darl Everett finished sixth with a final time of 1:34.66. 

And in the 800-yard freestyle relay, the Eagles nearly picked up a podium finish as Jonathan Zimmer, Jakob RobinetteLarry Almariento and Logan DeWalt finished fourth with a final time of 6:52.07.

FRIDAY:

The Mary Washington men's swim team finished Day 2 of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday night in College Park, Md.

Jonathan Zimmer placed fifth in the 200-yard IM (1:51.66), while Eli Polovchik placed 21st in the 50-yard freestyle (21.80) and Zack Cherry finished 23rd (22.84)

In the 500 free, Logan Dewalt was the lone Eagles to compete, finishing 14th (4:44.70).

In the 400-yard medley relay, the Eagles finished seventh as Will Burkey (back), Aidan Deege (breast), Zimmer (fly) and Dewalt (free) finished in 3:26.34.

SATURDAY:

The Mary Washington men's swimming finished off Day 3 of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday night. The Eagles currently sit in sixth place in the overall standings.

Notes: 

  • The Eagles placed fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Will Burkey, Darl Everett, Jonathan Zimmer and Logan Dewalt finished with a final time of 1:24.63
  • Zimmer placed fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke (55.86)
