The University of Mary Washington men's swimming team took third place overall after one day of events at the Franklin & Marshall College Invitational.
The Eagles 200 medley relay A team consisting of Kai Green, Ellis Winfree, Darl Everett, and Will Burkey, finished in third place with a time of 1:25.19. Johnathan Zimmer topped all other swimmers in the 200 IM at 1:53.39. Larry Almariento finished ninth in the 500-yard freestyle at 4:46.94, with Boone Fleenor in tenth place on his heels at 4:47.11. Everett, Winfree, Green, and Burkey held their own in the 50 free and finished with times of 21.74, 21.95, 21.41, and 21.74, respectively. The 400 free A relay of Datovech, Zimmer, Almariento, and Burkey took fourth at 3:27.25, with UMW's B and C relays coming in at ninth and tenth overall with times of 3:32.71 and 3:32.97.
The meet will continue on Saturday.
