The University of Mary Washington men's swimming team defeated Frostburg St. University on Saturday, 148-114, to improve to 5-2 on the season.
UMW opened with a win in the 200 yard medley relay, as Paul Datovech, Aidan Deege, Larry Almariento and Ellis Winfree touched first at 1:50.15. Conrad Tan finished first in the 200 free at 2:02.57, with Kyle Johnson,Boone Fleenor, and Pul Datovech taking the top three stpots in the 100 backstroke at 1:02.26, 1:02.28, and 1:02.70, respectively. Johnathan Zimmer placed first in the 100 breastsroke at 1:08.08.
Larry Almariento finished atop the 100 butterfly swimers with a sub-minute time at 59.96 and Zimmer won the 200 breaststroke at 2:30.90. Ellis Winfree took a close second the 50 butterfly at 24.63 - only .28 seconds behind the first place winner. The 200 free relay of Darl Everett, Will Burkey, Ellis Winfree, and Conrad Tan won with a time of 1:39.82.
This meet also included the 1650 yard freestyle, in which Jack Schreiber, Lke Strickler, and Eric Hupp particiated - with times of 18:46.84, 19:02.90, and 19:13.82, respectively.
The Eagles will return to action on Friday when they visit Franklin and Marshll for their invitational meet at 10:00 am on Friday.
