UMW Men's Swimming Tops St. Mary's, 189-56, on Friday Night

The University of Mary Washington men's swimming team defeated St. Mary's College of MD, 189-56, on Friday night in St. Mary's City, Md. The Eagles improve to 5-2 on the season.

The Eagles started the night with a 1-2 finish in the 200 yard medley relay. Kolin Hoffman, Thomas Leckrone, Brendan Huber-Wilker, and Ellis Winfree took first at 1:39.59, and Kyle Diederich, Stephen Wallace, Preston Trevey, and Logan Dewalt took second at 1:41.28. The Eagles finished 1-2-3-4 in the 200 freestyle, with Hoffman finishing first at 1:47.91.

Aidan Deege finished first in the 100 yard breaststroke at 1:03.49, Jakob Robinette took first in the 200 butterfly at 2:01.96, and Hoffman took first in the 100 free at 48.59. Conrad Tan finished first in the 200 yard backstroke at 2:03.53, Wallach won the 200 breaststroke at 2:18.40, and Peter Lermo won the 500 free at 5:07.13. 

Robinette won the 100 fly at 53.86, Sean Blackmer took first in the 400 IM, at 4:27.24, and the 400 free relay of Diederich, Darl Everett, Hoffman, and Deege took first at 3:23.78, as UMW finished 1-2-3.

The Eagles will compete next weekend at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational on Friday through Sunday.
