UMW Men's Swimming Splits with York, F&M on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington men's swimming team split its dual-dual meet at Franklin & Marshall College with York College of PA on Saturday, to move to 4-2 on the season. The Eagles topped York, 167-94, and fell to the Diplomats, 211-51.

Highlights for the Eagles included sophomore Peter Lermo (Springfield, Va.) finishing second in the 200 yard butterfly at 1:59.29, and senior Thomas Leckrone (Earlysville, Va.) taking second in the 100 yard butterfly at 52.88. Sophomore Conrad Tan (Skowhegan, Me.) finished third in the 200 individual medley at 2:01.91 as well as third in the 200 breaststroke at 2:18.31.  Junior Ellis Winfree (Bloomfield, Conn.) was third in the 50 free at 21.77, and freshman Jakob Robinette (Clifton, Va.) was third in the 200 free at 1:47.70. Sean Backmer (Annapolis, Md.) was third in the 1000 free, at 10:29.25.

The Eagles will be back in action on November 12 at St. Mary's College of MD at 6:00 p.m.
