UMW's Dallas Tarkenton Named CAC Men's Swimmer of the Week

YORK, Pa. -- Mary Washington junior Dallas Tarkenton was named the CAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week for Dec. 8, 2015.

Mary Washington junior Dallas Tarkenton was named the CAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week after capturing three individual first-place finishes and helping the Eagles claim second place at the Gettysburg Invitational this past weekend. On Friday, Tarkenton finished first in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 1:53.66. On Saturday, Tarkenton swam an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 49.60 in the 100 yard butterfly, and also won the 200 IM with a time of 1:54.41. All three of Tarkenton's top finishes rank in the top-50 of Division III this year, including the 17th best time in the 100 butterfly.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Five CAC squads were in action last week, with four competing at invitationals ... Marymount and St. Mary's competed at the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by Randolph-Macon, with Marymount taking sixth with 275 points and St. Mary's close behind in seventh with 264 points ... The Marymount 200 freestyle relay team of Tyler Hayes, James Gibbons, Robert Klazynski and Isaiah Jones set a new meet record with a time of 1:25.88 ... St. Mary's junior Matt Walchuck  collected two bronze medals to lead the Seahawks on the weekend while senior captain Grant Burgess added a third-place finish ... Salisbury fell to Widener 158-104 in non-conference action. Okan Eyigor notched two first-place finishes in the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly to pace the Sea Gulls ... York placed fourth at the TCNJ Lion Invitational, led by a pair of second-place finishes from senior Kyle Walthall. Walthall recorded the fastest times in the CAC in the 100 breaststroke (55.82) and 200 breaststroke (2:02.45). Both of Walthall's times rank in the top 10 of the nation this year.
