Anderson's Pool Record and Automatic Bid Lead UMW Swimmers in AM Session at Gettysburg

Alex Anderson set a pool record and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships to highlight the University of Mary Washington swim teams' efforts at  the Gettysburg College Final Fall Fast Festival on Saturday morning. Junior Nick Eckhoff gained a provisional NCAA cut in the 200 yard freestyle.

For the men, Anderson won the 400 IM with a record time of 3:57.03, while Eckhoff finished fifth in the 200 free at 1:41.43. Peter Slattery finished third in the 100 breaststroke at 59.18.

The women saw the 200 medley relay of Katie Fago, Hannah Hagy, Amber Kerico, and Stephanie Hallock place third at 1:50.04, while Kristen Callahan took third in the 400 IM at 4:43.15. Hagy and Kerico tied for third in the 100 butterfly at 1:00.61, followed by Allison Martin in fifth and Elizabeth Lewan in sixth. The 800 free relay of Robin Brazier, Ashley Walnut, Jessica Singer and Lindsay Ancellotti finished third at 8:04.38.

The meet will conclude on Saturday night.
