The University of Mary Washington men's and women's swimming teams topped York College in a Capital Athletic Conference dual meet on Friday night at Goolrick Natatorium. The men won, 201-61, and the women won, 210-52.
The women won every race in the meet. The 200 yard medley relay (Lindsay Ancellotti, Amber Kerico, Hannah Hagy, Meredith Thompson) won at 1:53.97, followed by Alex Parrish in the 1000 freestyle at 11:23.87; Jessica Singer in the 200 freestyle at 1:59.93 and the 500 freestyle at 5:25.37; Katie Fago in the 100 backstroke at 1:00.11; Amber Kerico in the 100 breaststroke at 1:09.49 and the 100 butterfly at 1:00.24; Abby Cox in the 200 butterfly at 2:15.79 and the 400 IM at 4:49.55; Stephanie Hallock in the 50 freestyle at 25.16; Meredith Thompson in the 100 freestyle at 55.76; Robin Brazier in the 200 backstroke at 2:13.06 and the 200 IM at 2:16.69; Kristen Callahan in the 200 breaststroke at 2:31.97; and the 200 free relay (Meredith Thompson, Tara Banks, Jessica Singer, Stephanie Hallock) at 1:42.47.
The men saw wins from the 200 medley relay (Michael Yelmgren, Peter Slattery, Alex Anderson, Nick Eckhoff) at 1:37.46; Zach Eisig in the 1000 freestyle at 10:12.33 and the 500 freestyle at 4:57.03; Jack McHugh in the 200 freestyle at 1:51.92; Sean Mayer in the 100 backstroke at 55.36; Vince Dunn in the 200 butterfly at 2:03.32; Vance Solseth in the 50 freestyle at 22.12; Matt Garstka in the 100 freestyle at 49.92; Yelmgren in the 200 backstroke at 1:57.93; Matt Arnold in the 100 fly at 53.57; Alex Anderson in the 400 IM at 4:08.06; Eric Phung in the 200 IM at 2:03.58; and the 200 free relay (McHugh, Arnold, Mayer, Michael Hudgins) at 1:29.08.
The Eagles will return to action next Friday at Randolph-Macon College at 6 p.m.
