Judy, Garofolo, Cox Named CAC Athletes of the Week

MEN’S SWIMMING
        Mary Washington senior ANDREW GAROFOLO (Richmond, Va./James River) was named the CAC Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week after leading the Eagles to wins over Frostburg State and Marymount.  Garofolo won the 200 freestyle (2:03.38) and 400 freestyle (4:24.62) and was a member of the gold medal 200 freestyle relay (1:42.40).


WOMEN’S SWIMMING
        Mary Washington freshman ABBY COX (Alexandria, Va./Alexandria) was named the CAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week after winning three events in Saturday’s tri-meet against Marymount at Frostburg State.  Cox swept top individual honors in the 200 IM (2:32.92) and 100 freestyle (1:02.14) and contributed to the gold medal 200 freestyle relay (1:56.78).


MEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
        Wesley sophomore MATT BUNDY (Media, Pa./Penncrest) and Mary Washington sophomore NICK JUDY (Fredericksburg, Va./River Bend) were selected as the CAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for Feb. 5, 2013. 
        Bundy was named the Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after overcoming flu-like symptoms to break the school record and qualify for the NCAA Championships with an 8.19 performance in the 60-meter hurdles at the Frank Colden Invitational at Ursinus College.  Bundy, who edged Salisbury’s Luke Campbell for the gold medal in the 60 hurdles, also anchored the Wolverines’ second-place 4x200 relay team in 1:34.35. 
        Judy was named the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after finishing first in the pole vault at the Haverford Invitational, clearing the bar at 13-5 1/4.
