
MEN’S SWIMMING
Mary Washington freshman ZACH EISIG (Damascus, Md./Damascus) was
named the CAC Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week after he won
three events and broke a pool record while leading the Eagles to a
pair of CAC dual meet victories and to the top of the conference
standings. Eisig took top honors in the 800 freestyle (9:10.93) and
400 freestyle (4:28.84) in a mid-week victory at St. Mary’s,
then shaved 11 seconds off the 400 freestyle time to set the pool
record at Salisbury Saturday, touching the wall at 4:17.36.
WOMEN’S SWIMMING
Mary Washington freshman KATIE FAGO (East Windsor, N.J./Peddie
School) was named the CAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week after
winning two individual events, posting a second-place finish and
contributing to a pool record relay team while leading the Eagles
to a pair of CAC victories. In a midweek win at St. Mary’s,
Fago took gold in the 100 backstroke (1:11.77), followed by a
first-place finish in the 100 butterfly (1:10.39) and a
second-place finish in the 50 freestyle (28.84) in Saturday’s
win at Salisbury. Fago also helped UMW win the 200 medley relay in
both meets, setting a pool record at Salisbury (2:07.49), nearly
three seconds faster than the Eagles’ performance against
SMC.
