UMW Men's, Women's Swim Teams Top Division I Howard
The University of Mary Washington men's and women's swim teams kicked off the 2011-12 dual meet season with a pair of wins over Division I Howard University on Saturday at Goolrick Natatorium. The men won by a score of 153-106, while the women won by a score of 182-76.

The women saw victories from the 200 yard medley relay (Robin Brazier, Kristen Callahan, Elizabeth Lewan, Chrissy Boyer) at 2:00.93; Jessica Singer in the 1000 freestyle at 11:01.08; Tara Banks in the 200 free at 2:05.05; Casey Williams in the 100 breaststroke at 1:13.97; Amber Kerico in the 200 fly at 2:16.15 and the 200 breaststroke at 2:32.58; Singer in the 100 freestyle at 56.09; Allie Beckenstein in the 200 backstroke at 2:21.04; Lindsay Ancellotti in the 500 freestyle at 5:25.48; Kelly Scott in the 100 fly at 1:02.06; and Brazier in the 200 IM at 2:19.51. 

The men got wins from the 200 medley relay (Nick Eckhoff, Austin Clark, Billy Norfolk, Hugh Anderson) at 1:37.25; Eckhoff in the 200 free at 1:47.37; Thomas Rinaldi in the 100 backstroke at 55.84; Norfolk in the 100 butterfly at 52.45 and the 200 yard butterfly at 1:55.43; Mike Hudgins in the 200 backstroke at 2:01.93; and Hugh Anderson in the 200 IM at 1:58.38.

The Eagles will return to action on Friday October 21 when they host Washington & Lee University at 7:00 p.m.
