Kerico Gains All-America Honors in 200 Breaststroke at NCAA Championships

University of Mary Washington sophomore Amber Kerico placed 12th in the finals of the 200 yard breaststroke at the NCAA Division III National Swimming Championships in Indianapolis on Saturday night. Kerico, seeded 13th in the event, finished with a time of 2:21.28, two-tenths of a second faster than her morning preliminary time.

Also, in the prelims of the 200 breaststroke, UMW's Megan DeSmit finished in 22nd place with a time of 2:22.67. In the men's 200 breaststroke, UMW's Alex Anderson took 22nd at 2:06.47.
