UMW Swimmers Drops Dual Meet at Gettysburg

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's swimming teams dropped a dual meet at Gettysburg College on Saturday afternoon, with the women falling, 138.5-122.5, and the men falling, 145-117.

Winners for the Eagle women included the 200 yard medley relay (Robin Brazier, Megan DeSmit, Kelly Scott, Jessica Singer) at 1:53.86; Brazier in the 100 backstroke at 1:02.37; Megan DeSmit in the 100 breaststroke at 1:09.43; Amber Kerico in the 200 breaststroke at 2:29.48; Kelly Scott in the 100 yard butterfly at 1:02.06; and Alex Parrish in the 400 IM at 4:50.53.

The UMW men got wins from the 200 medley relay (Nick Eckhoff, Austin Clark, Billy Norfolk, Alex Anderson) at 1:36.44; Andrew Garofolo in the 1000 freestyle at 10:17.50; Anderson in the 100 backstroke at 53.03 and the 400 IM at 4:08.60; Peter Slattery in the 100 breaststroke at 59.91; and Billy Norfolk in the 100 butterfly at 52.30 and the 200 butterfly at 1:54.82.

Mary Washington will return to action on February 4 when they host the College of William and Mary at 1:00 p.m. for senior day.
