The University of Mary Washington men's and women's swimming team sent several representatives to the Western Kentucky Hilltopper Invitational this weekend, and after Friday's results, the men stand fourth and the women sixth.
For the men, the 200 medley relay (Nick Eckhoff, Andrew Cole, Brian O'Donnell, Austin Clark) finished second at 1:26.17; Stephen Clendenin was second in the 200 IM (1:54.02); and the 400 medley relay (Clendenin, Clark, Billy Norfolk, Eckhoff) finished second at 3:29.40.
The women saw Megan DeSmit finish ninth in the 200 IM, Sarah Crockett finish tied for fifth in the 50 freestyle (24.68); and the 400 medley relay finish sixth at 4:00.19. Crockett gained NCAA provisional qualifying times in the 200 freestyle and the 100 backstroke.
The meet will continue on Saturday.
