The University of Mary Washington men's and women's swimming teams swept a Capital Athletic Conference dual-dual meet from York College and Hood College on Friday night. The women improve to 6-1 overall, while the men move to 4-2. UMW's men topped Hood, 79-40, and York, 69-50. The Eagle women bested Hood, 69-40, and York, 67-52.
The Eagle women saw wins from the 200 medley relay (Kelly Scott, Megan DeSmit, Elizabeth Lewan, and Ashley Green - 1:55.61); Lindsay Ancellotti in the 1000 freestyle (11:01.25); Jessica Singer in the 200 freestyle (1:59.43); Sarah Crockett in the 100 backstroke (1:01.78) and 100 freestyle (53.80); Megan DeSmit in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.97); Cameron Figuers in the 200 butterfly (2:14.44) and the 400 IM (4:40.71); Adriana Lesiuk in the 50 freestyle (25.30) and the 100 butterfly (1:01.03); Tierney Corrigan in the 200 backstroke (2:14.16); Kristen Callahan in the 200 breaststroke (2:31.63); Meg Anderson in the 500 freestyle (5:32.18); and the 200 free relay (Lindsay Ancellotti, Erin Price, Kristen Callahan, Liz Bradley - 1:46.29).
UMW's men saw wins from 200 medley relay (Stephen Clendenin, Daniel McGuire, Billy Norfolk, Brian O'Donnell - 1:39.94); Jack McHugh in the 1000 freestyle (10:35.78); Andrew Garafolo in the 200 freestyle (1:49.37); Clendenin in the 100 backstroke (54.11) and the 400 IM (4:15.75); McGuire in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.16); Norfolk in the 200 fly (1:55.47); Austin Clark in the 50 free (21.61); O'Donnell in the 100 free (49.60); Peter Slattery in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.68); Brad Dunn in the 500 free (4:59.13); Nick Eckhoff in the 100 fly (54.43); and the 200 free relay of McGuire, Andrew Cole, Clark, and O'Donnell - 1:30.15).
The Eagles will be idle until the start of the spring semester.
