
RESULTS
The University of Mary Washington men's and women's swim teams each finished in fifth place at the Potomac Valley Relays on Friday at American University in Washington, D.C. The Eagles were the only non-Division I school at the event.
Highlights for the men's team included the men's 200 yard medley relay (Stephen Clendenin (Ashburn, Va., Home Schooled), Austin Clark (Springfield, Va., Texas Permian Basin), Billy Norfolk (Fairfax, Va., Chantilly), Brian O'Donnell (Scotch Plains, N.J., Union Catholic)) finishing in second place with a time of 1:37.63 and the 300 yard butterfly relay (Billy Norfolk, Stephen Clendenin, Ian McCormick (Warrington, Pa., Central Bucks South)) placing third at 2:42.47.
The women's relays highest finishes were by the 300 breaststroke relay (Kristen Callahan (Vienna, Va., Oakton), Cameron Figuers (Cary, N.C., Cardinal Gibbons), Megan DeSmit (Bridgewater, Va. , Turner Ashby)) who placed fifth at 3:35.29, and the 1000 yard freestyle relay (Lindsay Ancellotti (Williamsburg, Va., Jamestown) and Missy Kobiela (Easthampton, N.J., Rancocas Valley Regional)), which took fifth at 11:24.12.
Mary Washington will open the dual meet season on October 16 when they host the College of William and Mary and Howard University at noon.
