Crockett, Clendenin, DeSmit Shine at Terrapin Invite
COLLEGE PARK, MD - University of Mary Washington juniors Sarah Crockett (Toano, Va., Lafayette) and Stephen Clendenin (Ashburn, Va., Home Schooled) and sophomore Megan DeSmit (Bridgewater, Va. , Turner Ashby) continued to shine at the University of Maryland Terrapin Invitational on Friday. After two days of events, the men are fifth among eight schools and the women are sixth among 10 - and are the only Division III school at the event, with all other being Division I.

Crockett achieved an NCAA automatic qualifying time in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:52.12, and reached an NCAA provisional time in the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.80. Clendenin swam a strong provisional qualifying time in the 400 IM with a time of 4:43.67, and in the same race, freshman Nick Eckhoff also swam a provisional qualifying time. DeSmit set a new CAC and UMW record in the 100 breaststroke, with a time of 1:06.00, which placed her eighth overall.

The Eagles will conclude the meet at Maryland on Saturday.
