The University of Mary Washington women's swim team won every race, and the men's team won every race but one in a dual-dual meet sweep of Capital Athletic Conference rivals Hood College and York College on Friday night in York, Pa. The Eagle women beat Hood, 212-34, and beat York, 188-73. UMW's men topped Hood, 222-27, and York, 190.5-71.5.
Multiple winners for the Eagle women included Adriana Lesiuk (Bensalem, Pa., Nazareth ) in the 50 freestyle (25.25) and the 100 freestyle (54.97); Megan DeSmit (Bridgewater, Va. , Turner Ashby) in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.53) and the 500 freestyle (5:25.80); Sarah Crockett (Toano, Va., Lafayette) in the 200 freestyle (1:56.49) and the 200 backstroke (2:11.41); and Cameron Figuers (Cary, N.C., Cardinal Gibbons) in the 200 IM (2:16.59) and the 200 breaststroke (2:30.19).
The men had multiple winners in Nick Eckhoff (Williamsburg, Va., Jamestown) in the 100 backstroke (56.04) and the 500 freestyle (4:53.07); Stephen Clendenin (Ashburn, Va., Home Schooled) in the 200 backstroke (2:03.89) and the 200 IM (2:01.77); Billy Norfolk (Fairfax, Va., Chantilly) in the 100 butterfly (52.98) and the 200 butterfly (2:01.05); and Justin Anderson (Oak Hill, Va., Oakton) in the 200 freestyle (1:48.77) and the 100 freestyle (49.17).
Both teams swept both relays, with the women finishing 1-2 in both relays.
Both teams will be back in action on November 19-21 at the University of Maryland Terrapin invitational.
