UMW's Eckhoff, Lesiuk Named CAC Swimmers of the Week
YORK, Pa. -- Mary Washington freshman NICK ECKHOFF (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) and Eagles junior ADRIANA LESIUK (Bensalem, Pa./Nazareth) were selected as the CAC Swimming Athletes of the Week for Jan. 26, 2010.


MEN’S SWIMMING
        Mary Washington freshman Nick Eckhoff (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) was selected the CAC Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week after winning four events over the weekend and swimming exhibition in two other events.  Eckhoff won the 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle and contributed to the 400 medley relay team in Saturday’s CAC win over St. Mary’s.  He also took the top spot in the 100 backstroke in Friday’s victory over Marymount as the Eagles completed another undefeated dual meet season vs. CAC competition.


WOMEN’S SWIMMING
        Mary Washington junior Adriana Lesiuk (Bensalem, Pa./Nazareth) was selected the CAC Women’s Swimming Athlete of the Week after winning six CAC races as the Eagles downed Marymount and St. Mary’s to clinch their 20th-consecutive undefeated CAC dual meet record.  Lesiuk recorded unrested season bests in both the 50 and 100 freestyle races in both meets.  Friday against Marymount, she also contributed to the victorious 200 freestyle relay team while Saturday, at St. Mary’s, she helped the Eagles to the win in the 400 medley relay.
