Nationally-Ranked UMW Swim Teams Sweep St. Mary's in CAC Action

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD. - The nationally-ranked University of Mary Washington men's and women's swimming teams remained unbeaten in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday with the men winning at St. Mary's College, 162-41, and the women winning, 132-73.

Winners for the Eagles included the 400 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay, Adriana Lesiuk in the 50 freestyle (25.12) and the 100 freestyle (54.88), Sarah Crockett in the 200 freestyle (1:59.97), Nina Sawyer in the 200 IM (2:15.22), Virginia Page in the 200 backstroke (2:19.76), Megan DeSmit in the 500 freestyle (5:30.11), and Cameron Figuers in the 200 breaststroke (2:31.08).

The men saw wins from the 400 medley and 400 freestyle relays, Austin Clark in the 50 freestyle (22.52) and the 100 freestyle (49.97), Nick Eckhoff in the 200 freestyle (1:48.07) and the 500 freestyle (4:58.39), Andrew Garofolo in the 1000 freestyle (10:27.90), Stephen Clendenin in the 200 IM (2:00.98), Billy Norfolk in the 200 butterfly (1:59.19), and Chris Shifflett in the 200 backstroke (2:07.89).

The Eagles will visit Gettysburg College next Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
