No. 2 UMW's Josh Kirkland Named C2C Offensive Player of the Week

For the second time this season, senior forward Josh Kirkland was named the Coast-to-Coast Conference's Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

For the week, Kirkland recorded three goals, 14 total shots and four shots on goal in three games that included two wins over Gettysburg, St. Mary's (Md.) and a draw with Christopher Newport.

Kirkland's brace on Sunday in No. 2 Mary Washington's 2-1 win over St. Mary's (Md.) was all the Eagles needed, scoring twice in the first 30 minutes of action.

In UMW's victory over Gettysburg on Tuesday, Kirkland scored early in the second half to open the Eagles' lead up to 2-0 in their 4-1 win.

On Saturday at Christopher Newport, Kirkland put pressure on the Captains defense, recording five total shots.

Keeper Freddy Rogers was named an honorable mention on the defensive side. For the week, Rogers went 2-0-1 in the Eagles' three games, while saving 10 total shots
