Lynchburg jumped ahead at 5:03 into the contest, and the Eagles battled from behind for much of the half. After drawing multiple corner kicks (10 in the opening half), UMW finally connected, as senior defender Aidan Shell scored on a header from Diego Guzman's corner kick. The game remained tied to intermission.
In the second, the script was the same, as Lynchburg pulled back ahead with its second goal of the night (and just the second allowed by the Eagles all season at home) at 48:24.
