No. 1 Mary Washington Men’s Soccer Falls to No. 3 Messiah

The No. 1 University of Mary Washington men's soccer team (6-1) fell at No. 3 Messiah University on Saturday after conceding a late goal to the Falcons, 1-0. 

For the first time all season, the Eagles were outshot, 14-6. Keeper Freddy Rogers recorded five saves after facing all 14 shots. 

The two teams tied on corners with 10.

Senior midfielders Julian Schmugge and Gabe Francesconi recorded UMW's two shots on goal. 

The Eagles are back in action on Sept. 27 against Stevenson for their first evening game on the Battleground Turf Field. 

First touch in Fredericksburg is set for 6 p.m.
