The University of Mary Washington was well represented on the 2022 Virginia Sports Information Directors College Division All-State Men's Soccer Team, released on Wednesday. Senior forward Josh Kirkland and senior defender Jacob Kautzman were named to the first team, sophomore forward Carter Berg and senior midfielder Abel Luwis were named to the second team, and Eagle head coach jason Kilby was named the state Coach of the Year.

Kirkland, an All-American selection, led the Eagles with 18 goals and three assists for 39 points. Kautzman was a scholar All-American after gaining first team all-conference and all-region honors in leading the defense.

Berg scored 10 goals and assisted on five others, and repeated as an all-conference pick, and Luwis repeated as an all-conference choice, after scoring one goal and adding seven assists on the season.

Kilby led the Eagles to the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Championship, and guided UMW to the NCAA Division III final four, with wins over nationally-ranked Ohio Wesleyan, Amherst, and Bowdoin along the way.
