University of Mary Washington senior forward Josh Kirkland (Richmond, Va.), senior defender Jacob Kautzman (Springfield, Va.) and sophomore forward Carter Berg (Reston, Va.) have been named to the United Soccer Coaches 2022 All-Region VI Team.
Kirkland, the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference's Offensive Player of the Year in each of the past two seasons and a repeat selection on the all-region team, has scored 18 goals and added three assists for 39 points on the season, providing four game-winning goals. He was named to the first team.
Kautzman gains second team all-region honors after leading an Eagle defense that has advanced to the NCAA Tournament semifinals on Thursday. He has scored a pair of goals as a defenderincluding the game winner against North Carolina Wesleyan College.
Berg gains all-region second team honors after scoring 10 goals and adding five assists, with a team-high five game winners. He scored the game winning goals in NCAA Tournament wins over Ohio Wesleyan and Bowdoin.
