Senior men's soccer standout Josh Kirkland has been named as the October winner of the Virginia Lottery UMW Male Athlete of the Month.

Kirkland, who has led UMW to the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference championship, scored eight goals in six games in October, as UMW went 5-1 during the month.

He ranks 14th nationally in goals scored, 21st in goals per game, and 33rd in points per game.
