Senior men's soccer standout Josh Kirkland has been named as the Virginia Lottery/UMW Male Athlete of the Month for September.

Kirkland started the 2022 season with a bang, scoring six goals in the Eagles' opening week, and gained United Soccer Coaches National NCAA Division III Player of the Week honors, as well as Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

His four goals in a victory over Guilford College tied the UMW school record for goals in a game. Kirkland is second in the C2C in goals, and third in points.
