University of Mary Washington senior soccer standout Ken Kurtz (Katonah, N.Y. / Somers) has been named as the Virginia Lottery Male Student-Athlete of the Month for September, 2021.

Kurtz led the men's soccer team to five victories for the month, allowing just five goals in eight games. He started the season with three straight shutouts, and recorded a fourth in a 3-0 win over the University of Lynchburg. He was named as the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week of September 6.

For the month, Kurtz collected five victories, four shutouts, posting a stingy 0.61 goals-against average with 17 saves.
