Senior men's soccer goalie Matt Spencer has been named as the UMW Wagner Wealth Management Athlete of the Month for October.

Spencer has led the men's soccer team to the 2017 Capital Athletic Conference Championship, and advancement to the NCAA Division III Tournament, thanks to an outstanding month. The senior goalie has led the Eagles to 11 wins in their last 13 matches, including six shutout victories.

Spencer has made 61 saves on the season, while allowing just 18 goals for a .772 save percentage. He has allowed 0.96 goals per game.
