#24 UMW Men's Soccer Blanks Wesley, 1-0, in Saturday CAC Road Match

Junior forward Justin Carey scored on a Jeremy Hokenson assist just 2:10 into the game, and the defense did the rest of the work in a 1-0 victory for the University of Mary Washington men's soccer team at Wesley College on Saturday evening in Dover, Del. The Eagles improve to 11-2-1 overall, and 6-0 in Capital Athletic Conference play.

The Eagles outshot the Wolverines, 14-5, and held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. UMW goalkeeper Matt Spencer recorded one save in gaining the shutout - the sixth of the season. UMW has shut out four straight opponents, and Spencer has now had a hand in 22 career shutouts.

For UMW, Carey ties for the team lead with his fifth goal, while Hokenson takes over first on the team with four assists.

The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday when they visit St. Mary's College in a key CAC showdown starting at 3:30 p.m.
