University of Mary Washington assistant soccer coach and former player Matt Lawrey was awarded the Positive Coaching Alliance's "Double Goal Coaching Award".
A nonprofit entity which seeks “to provide all youth and high school athletes a positive, character-building youth sports experience,” PCA recognizes those who approach youth sports with a focus on building character as well as winning.
Lawrey is one of the 20 award winners, announced on March 19 and honored with a trophy, $250 and inclusion in the PCA website, Momentum e-newsletter and media campaigns.
