UMW Men's Soccer Falls at York in 2012 CAC Championship

The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision at York College of Pa. in the 2012 Capital Athletic Conference championship on Saturday, falling to 12-8-1 on the year.

The Eagles fell behind early, as York scored on a penalty kick by Justin Facer in the fourth minute. The Spartans scored again on a goal by Antonio Bua in the 10th minute and again in the 24th minute on an Austin Johnson score. York upped the lead to 4-0 in the 38th minute on a Jake Hower goal, and led, 4-0, at halftime.

The Spartans added another goal in the 65th minute from Brendan Saberton. York led in shots, 17-3, and UMW held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Sophomore Tyler Back had five saves for Mary Washington, and Jack Eaton added a pair of saves in 14 minutes of relief. York's Jesse Derksen had two saves.

The Eagles stand at 12-8-1 on the year, marking their most wins in a season since 2006.
