The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team tied Frostburg State University, 1-1, through two overtimes on Saturday in Frostburg. The Eagles move to 4-4-2 on the season, and 2-0-1 in CAC play.

After a scoreless first half, the Eagles received a huge momentum boost when freshman goalkeeper Tyler Back (Falls Church, Va., George Mason) stopped a Bobcat penalty kick. Moments later, junior Matt Poole (Neshanic Station, N.J., Somerville) scored to give UMW a 1-0 lead with 20 minutes remaining.

Frostburg took control offensively, firing numerous shots inside the 80 minute mark, finally tying the score in the 84th minute. The teams played through a scoreless pair of overtimes.

The Bobcats led in shots, 21-7, and the Eagles held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. Back made 11 saves in goal for the Eagles, while FSU goalie Abiye Jack had two saves.

The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday when they host Marymount University in another CAc contest starting at 4:00 p.m.
