
The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team took a second half 1-0 lead but couldn't hold on in a 2-1 loss at Stevenson University on Friday afternoon in Capital Athletic Conference play. The Eagles fall to 7-5-2 overall and 2-3-1 in league play.
UMW gained the lead in the 52nd minute, as senior T.L. Tutor scored on a header assisted by Bram Sims. Stevenson bounced back to knot the score at one at 67:49, and scored the game winner with five and a half minutes remaining in regulation.
Both teams had 12 shots, and Stevenson led in corner kicks, 8-3. Alec Constantine had five saves in the UMW goal.
The Eagles will return to action on Saturday, hosting Hood College for Homecoming at 3:30 p.m.
