#25 UMW Men's Soccer Ties Frostburg, 1-1

The twenty-fifth ranked University of Mary Washington men's soccer team tied Frostburg State University, 1-1, on Saturday at the Battleground. The Eagles move to 7-2-2 on the season, and 2-0-1 in Capital Athletic Conference play. 

After a scoreless first half in which UMW outshot the visitors, 7-1, it was the Bobcats who found the nets first, as Dillon Muise connected on a shot from outside the box at 49:54. The Eagles tied the score at one on a Ryan Taibl (Centreville, Va., Westfield) penalty kick at 63:23.

The two teams completed regulation tied at one and played scoreless through two 10-minute overtime periods.

Mary Washington held a 12-7 shot advantage, and had five corner kicks to four for FSU. Hunter Wootten (Westhampton Beach, N.Y., Westhampton Beach) had three saves for the Eagles, while Stephen Cavallo had two for the Bobcats.

The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday when they host York College of Pa. in a key CAC match starting at 4:00 p.m.
