Tutor's Two Scores Lead UMW Past Va. Wesleyan, 2-1

Senior forward T.L. Tutor (Islesboro, Me., Gould Academy) scored a pair of second half goals to lead the University of Mary Washington men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory at Virginia Wesleyan College on Wednesday night in Virginia Beach. Virginia Wesleyan opened the scoring after a scoreless first half when Nick Forneau scored in the 47th minute. Tutor tied the score six minutes later on an assist from senior Jae Park (Herndon, Va., Herndon). Tutor provided the game winner in the 86th minute unassisted. Junior Robby Davis (Locust Grove, Va., James Monroe) crossed the ball toward goal, and the keeper's deflection came to Tutor, slid the ball into the open goal.

The Marlins edged UMW in shots, 10-9, while Eagle goalkeeper Alec Constantine (McLean, Va., Langley) had five saves. Virginia Wesleyan keeper Zmuda had three saves.

Mary Washington will host The College of New Jersey on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in the second game of the UMW Soccer Classic.
