UMW Men's Soccer Tops Marymount, 4-1, in CAC Play

ARLINGTON, VA - The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team used a pair of goals from junior T.L. Tutor (Islesboro, Me., Gould Academy) in defeating Marymount University, 4-1, on Wednesday evening in Capital Athletic Conference action. The Eagles improve to 11-4-1 overall, and 6-0-1 in conference play.

Freshman Duke Mensah-Abrampah (Gainesville, Va., Battlefield) opened the scoring for the Eagles, with a goal at 17:20 on an assist from junior Corey Sims (Boston, Va., Culpeper). Marymount tied the score at one at 21:13 on a goal by Phillipe Millogo, and the score remained tied at one at halftime.

The Eagles erupted for three second half goals for the win. Tutor scored at 49:01 on an assist from Mensah-Abrampah, and scored again 6:19 later unassisted. Robby Davis (Locust Grove, Va., James Monroe) capped the scoring for the Eagles at 81:12.

Mary Washington outshot the Saints, 20-14, and had four corner kicks to nine for Marymount. Emmett Rutkowski (Culpeper, Va., Culpeper) had five saves for Mary Washington, and William Brahmstedt had eight for Marymount.

The Eagles will visit nationally-ranked Salisbury University on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with first place in the Capital Athletic Conference on the line.
