Men's Soccer Falls at Catholic, 2-1

WASHINGTON- A pair of goals by Kevin Duffy propelled the Catholic University men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over The University of Mary Washington Saturday afternoon. The Eagles see their five-match win streak snapped, as the Eagles fall to 5-3 overall.

Duffy scored his first of two goals less than five minutes into the match. Teammate Michael DiMarco hit Duffy on a cross at the 4:47 mark, giving the Cards a 1-0 advantage.

Duffy helped further the lead for CUA with a second goal, converting a feed from Hal Cogan toward the end of the first half. The Cardinals held UMW scoreless until the 87 minute mark. UMW's John Tarley recorded an unassisted goal to put the Eagles within one, but CUA held on for the 2-1 victory.

The Eagles will visit Hood College in Capital Athletic Conference play on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
