UMW Men's Lacrosse Topples Hood, 20-3

Senior midfielder Kohl Meyer (Shawnee, N.J., Shawnee) scored four goals and added a pair of assists to lead the University of Mary Washington men's lacrosse team to a 20-3 win over Hood College in Capital Athletic Conference action on Wednesday afternoon at the Battleground. Junior Harry Snyder (Charlottesville, Va., St. Anne's-Belfield) scored twice and added four assists for UMW, who improves to 8-5 on the season, and 4-2 in CAC play.

The Eagles led, 5-1, after 15 minutes, and outscored the Blazers, 4-0, in the second, to take a 9-1 lead to halftime. UMW erupted for 10 third quarter goals from nine different players.

Freshman John Bohlinger (Westfield, NJ, Westfield) scored three goals and added one assist for the Eagles, with Luke Dick (Annapolis, MD, Archbishop Spaulding HS) and Joey Marson (Chantilly, VA, Chantilly) each scoring twice. In all, 12 different Eagles found the nets.

The Eagles led in shots, 39-23, and in ground balls, 37-27. Senior Ryan Kleman (Fairfax, VA, Robinson) had five saves and junior Ryan Montgomery (Chapel Hill, N.C., Chapel Hill) six in goal for UMW.

UMW will visit Wesley College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in another CAC contest.
