Senior men's basketball standout Greg Rowson has been named as the Virginia Lottery University of Mary Washington Male Athlete of the Month for December 2022.

Rowson has ed the 20th ranked Eagles to an 11-2 record, including a 6-1 record in December. For the month, Rowson scored 17.8 points per game in six contests, shooting 52.2% from the floor and averaging 6.0 rebounds per game. The Eagles are undefeated this season in games in which Rowson has played.

Rowson has scored 20-plus points in four of his six games in December, including 27 in a 103-95 win at Washington and Lee University, in a game in which he became the 22nd player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points. He was named the Most Valuable Player at the W&L Holiday Tournament, and C2C Player of the Week. 

For the season, Rowson leads the Eagles with 17.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, and a 47.5 shooting percentage.
