Senior guard Anias Saunders has been named as the Virginia Lottery UMW Male Scholar-Athlete of the Month for November.

Saunders has led the Eagles to a 6-2 start, having won five straight games. He leads the team and ranks third in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference by averaging 15.0 PPG, is third in the league with a 51.6% field goal percentage, as well as fourth in the C2C with a 40.5% three-point field goal percentage.

Saunders has reached double figures in scoring in seven of UMW's eight games, including a career-high 27 points in an 80-65 win over Bridgewater, and 26 points in a 68-65 victory over Lynchburg. He grabbed eight rebounds against Bridgewater and dished out seven assists in a win at Virginia Wesleyan.

He was named the C2C Player of the Week on November 22.
