CAC - York senior guard Jared Wagner headlines the 2020 All-CAC Men's Basketball teams as the CAC Player of the Year, while St. Mary's Gary Grant collected CAC Rookie of the Year accolades. Mary Washington's Trey Barber earned CAC Defensive Player of the Year honors, while Southern Virginia's Sam Armstrong achieved CAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year status. Christopher Newport's John Krikorian took home CAC Coach of the Year honors for the fifth consecutive season after leading the Captains to a share of the conference regular season title.
Wager led the conference in scoring at 18.5 points per contest, 7.04 assists and 2.88 steals per game, while also sitting second in field goal percentage (53.0). York shared the CAC regular season title with CNU and Wagner was named CAC Player of the Week six times this seasons. Wagner becomes the sixth York player to earn CAC Player of the Year honors.
Barber earned the inaugural CAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Year recognition after leading the league with 69 blocks on the season. The freshman was also efficient on the offensive end for Mary Washington shooting 51.6 percent from the floor which is fourth best in the conference.
Grant posted 16.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest to collect CAC Rookie of the Year honors. He collected CAC Player of the Week accolades three times during the season to lead St. Mary's.
Armstrong took home the inaugural CAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year distinction after an impressive senior season for Southern Virginia both on the floor and in the classroom. Armstrong, who currently applying to law school and has internships with a law firm and ESPN lined up, averaged 13.6 points this season (8th best CAC) thanks to 78 three pointers (2nd CAC).
