Mary Washington sophomore Eric Shaw was named the CAC Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to a pair of key wins to claim the No. 3 seed in the CAC Tournament. Shaw averaged a double-double with 25.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game on 63% shooting. Shaw scored 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting as the Eagles topped Southern Virginia on Wednesday, and also hauled in a career-high 15 rebounds to go with three assists. On Saturday, he scored 26 points to lead the Eagles past Penn State Harrisburg, making 8-of-11 shots and adding six caroms. He also blocked five shots for the week and committed just two turnovers.

Christopher Newport became the second team in CAC history to complete a perfect regular season with an 18-0 record in CAC play. Former CAC member Catholic was the only other team to complete the feat, going 14-0 in 1998. The Captains set a new CAC mark for regular season conference wins, surpassing St. Mary's mark of 16 from 2014-15 ... The CAC Tournament begins on Tuesday, with first round matchups featuring No. 6 Wesley at No. 3 Mary Washington at 8 p.m., and No. 5 Southern Virginia at No. 4 St. Mary's at 7 p.m. ... Top-seeded CNU and second-seeded Salisbury will host Thursday's semifinals ... CNU is ranked No. 1 in the Middle Atlantic Region, while Salisbury is No. 3 ... CNU is ranked No. 5 in the D3hoops.com Week 10 national rankings, with Salisbury receiving votes ... Marcus Carter led CNU with 23 points on 9-of-10 shooting against Marymount in the regular season finale. Carter and the Captains have won 15 straight games heading into the postseason ... Nick Smoot finished off his Frostburg State career with 17.5 PPG over the final two games of the 2015-16 season ... Salisbury's Rocky Harris had a big week for the Sea Gulls with 21.0 PPG. Harris notched a career-high-tying 23 points in Wednesday's win against Marymount, and scored 19 with four steals vs. Frostburg State. He made 8-of-17 from beyond the arc for the week ... Southern Virginia senior David Baety double-doubled vs. UMW, scoring 21 points and tying a season-high of 10 rebounds. He leads the team in RPG (6.5) and ranks second in PPG (14.7 - .3 behind team leader Anders Jacobson) ... JW Lawson provided a spark off the bench for the Wolverines this week, leading the team to a 2-0 week and the sixth playoff spot in the CAC Tournament. Lawson netted 12 against Penn State Harrisburg on 50% shooting from the floor, and then scored 20 to lead the Wolverines over St. Mary's to lock up a playoff spot. Lawson also averaged 2.5 steals a game, 3.5 rebounds a game, and recorded three total assists on the week. Wesley was a long shot for the playoffs as recently as early February, but the team won their final three games of the regular season to sneak into the postseason ... York sophomore Matt Scamuffo averaged 29.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game for the Spartans last week, including a career-high 32 points in a 14-point win over Southern Virginia.
