The University of Mary Washington men's basketball team saw its four-game Capital Athletic Conference win streak snapped on Wednesday in a 67-52 loss at Wesley College. UMW falls to 11-11 overall and 5-5 in league play.

Wesley held a slim edge early, but when Eagle forward Sean Armstrong went to the bench with two fouls after just five minutes, the Wolverines seized the opportunity, going on a 9-0 run to lead, 14-5, with 11:54 remaining in the half. Wesley led by as many as 14 in the half before settling on an 11-point edge, 34-23, at halftime.

The Eagles scored the first four points of the second half to cut the deficit to seven, but would pull no closer, as Wesley scored eight straight to return the lead to 15, and never looked back.

UMW was led by Dylan Farinet and Taylor Johnson, who each scored 10 points, and Armstrong, who had nine points and six rebounds in 19 minutes. E.J. Willis added eight points and five rebounds for the Eagles.

The Eagles shot 43% from the floor (20-46) with six three pointers, while Wesley shot 46% (22-48) with seven three pointers. The keys were in free throws, as Wesley went 16-22 while UMW shot just 6-14, and in turnovers, as the Eagles committed 23.

UMW will return to action on Saturday when they host Southern Virginia University at 1 p.m. for alumni day and faculty and staff appreciation day.
