Harvey, Henderson Lift UMW Men's Basketball Past Marymount, 75-64

Junior guard Mike Harvey (East Berlin, Pa., Bermudian Springs) scored a game-high 22 points, and junior forward Ryan Henderson (Richmond, Va., Highland Springs) added 13 to lead the University of Mary Washington men's basketball team to a 75-64 win at Marymount University on Monday night in Arlington. The Eagles improve to 13-6 overall and 7-4 in CAC play.

The Eagles jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first half, and led throughout the first 20 minutes, by as many as nine points at 27-19 with 6:09 to play. UMW led, 36-30, at intermission.

Marymount opened the second half on an 8-0 run of its own to take a momentary lead at 38-36, but the Eagles responded with a pair of three pointers from junior Ryan Farrar (Ashburn, Va., Centreville, Va.) and a three and two free throws from Harvey to make an 11-0 run and assume the lead at 49-40, from which they would not look back.

Harvey was 7-9 from the floor and 5-7 on three point attempts, while Henderson went 6-12. Freshman point guard Walt Smith (Alexandria, Va., T.C. Williams) had nine points, six rebounds, and six assists for the Eagles, who shot 47% from the field (29-62). Marymount was led by Reed Scott's 14 points.

The Eagles will visit Salisbury University on Saturday in another CAC contest.
