The University of Mary Washington men's golf team stands in first place, 10 shots up on second place Randolph-Macon College, after day one at the Myrtle Beach Kickoff Tournament.
The Eagles shot a cumulative 304 on the day, with freshman Phillip Manceri tying for first on day one with a 75 (+3). Freshmen Brendan Kelly and Jason Guintu each posted a 76 (+4), with Ethan Kelly shooting a 77 (+5). Freshman Austin Matz shot a 79, giving UMW five golfers under 80 for the first time.
The event will continue at Burning Ridge Golf Club on Sunday.
