
The University of Mary Washington field hockey team dropped a 2-0 decision to visiting Denison University on Monday morning at the Battleground. The Eagles slip to 8-7 on the season.
The Eagles had the better of the offensive chances in the early going, but Denison found the first goal with 5:02 left in the first quarter. The Big Red added another in the second for the only scoring on the day.
UMW led in shots, 12-5, as well as penalty corners, 5-2. UMW goalkeeper Bailey McNabb made one save between the pipes.
The Eagles will return to action on Saturday when they visit Centre College at 12:00 p.m.
