University of Mary Washington sophomore field hockey standout Emma Bernard (Fredericksburg, Va. / Chancellor) has been named as the B101.5 Female Student-Athlete of the Month for September, 2021.

Bernard started the season with a flourish, scoring three goals in her first collegiate game at Roanoke College, accounting for all three Eagle scores in a 3-2 win, including the game winner in overtime. She also recorded a hat trick against Virginia Wesleyan University, and two goals and an assist against Bridgewater College.

In all, Bernard scored nine goals and three assists in the Eagles first eight contests, and was named as the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week twice during the month.
