UMW Field Hockey Falls at #7 Salisbury in CAC Semifinal, 3-0

The University of Mary Washington field hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision at seventh-ranked Salisbury University on Wednesday night, to see its season end with a mark of 11-6.

Salisbury opened the scoring at 1:20 on a rebound score from Jillian Hughes. Despite the early tally, the margin remained 1-0 through halftime. In the second, the Sea Gulls scored at 49:24 with a score from Lexi Butler, and added another at 52:49, from Jenna Partilla.

Salisbury led in shots, 27-1, as well as penalty corners, 12-2. UMW senior goalkeeper Jessica Cavolt made 13 saves for the Eagles, while Dom Farrace had one for Salisbury.

The Eagles see their season end with a record of 11-6, marking the 13th straight year that the squad has reached 11 or more victories.
